Artist's Description

This painting ended up being more colorful than I had intended but I like how it turned out. Painted "en plein aire" near my home at a local swimming hole, it was fun and challenging to try to paint a subject as the evening light faded.

About Lee Stockwell

Lee Stockwell

I was born in Medford, WI and grew up mostly in that beautiful state. When it came time for me to leave home I ended up moving out to California where I've been ever since. My love for painting was inspired and encouraged first by my cousin Todd. He got me started and I have slowly developed since then. I have no real formal art training - I have just picked up bits and pieces of technique along the way. The pieces you see posted on this site are my more successful undertakings.
